Bringing back nice memories: I am already excited to visit Columbus, Ohio on August 7th and 8th. This is the place where my business in software for the roll forming industry used to start around 30 years ago. It started with introducing software for sheet metal bending (COPRA MetalBender, which has become part of Autodesk's legendary Inventor) and the meanwhile leading roll tool planning- and design software COPRA® RF. By the way: 30 years later, on August 7 and 8, 2019 I will be visiting this place again in order to share newest stuff with my colleagues from US. It will be a unique meeting. We will not only demonstrate new features of our roll form software packages but also allow the participants to try things 'first hand' by taking our software (COPRA® RF and COPRA® FEA RF) for a spin themselves. And not only software – there will also be the opportunity to get hands on our precise and easy-to-use COPRA® ProfileScan device. A laser based off-line or in-line measuring device which reads the actual profile cross sectional geometry - fully integrated into our COPRA® RF engineering software.

Aside the opportunity to do some networking with roll form/ tube and pipe industry people I will be sharing first hand information about our newest products and also R&D activities my company has been performing in the most recent past. And especially about development we are currently doing/ finishing and which fall under the keywords 'smart roll forming', 'Industry 4.0' or (what I am preferring) 'digital roll forming'. As some of you know, data M Sheet Metal Solutions GmbH is cooperating with a number of renowned Universities in Germany, Europe and around the globe – as we used to do also with Ohio State University many years back.
